Dr. Dunphy, Chiropractor
 Dr.
Fawn R. Dunphy was born and raised in Maine.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine at
Orono, graduating in
May of 1991.
Dr. Dunphy attended Logan College of Chiropractic in
September of 1991 and graduated in December of 1994. She
successfully passed all parts of the required National
Board examinations and is
licensed in the state of Maine.
During
her professional education at Logan College, Dr. Dunphy
was a senior intern consultant for ergonomic and
functional assessments as ordered by the Logan College
Health Clinics. This positioned her to
examine the patient's functional ability or status as
it pertained to job performance skills such as lifting,
bending, fine movement skills, cardiovascular ability,
and general strength assessment. This position also
entitled her to perform thorough examinations for
cumulative trauma or repetitive strain disorders of the
neuromusculoskeletal system such as carpal tunnel
syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, or low back
disability. She also performed and analyzed human
gait and specific biomechanical disorders of the lower
extremity and made specific recommendations for
treatment and rehabilitation. Dr. Dunphy was also
selected to a team of interns to provide therapeutic
rehabilitation to mentally and physically impaired
adults at an adult daycare center once a week.
Following graduation from Logan College, Dr. Dunphy
received an associate position within the Research and
Ergonomics Department at Logan College. Dr. Dunphy
participated in writing grants and received funding to
perform research, which evaluated the effects of
chiropractic care and specific chiropractic techniques
on common musculoskeletal conditions. She was also
the lead instructor in an Upper and Lower Extremity
Biomechanics course, which focused on the assessment,
diagnosis, & treatment of common injuries and
overuse syndromes. Her course also addressed ergonomic
and workplace assessment.
